{ Cancer's Hidden Blessings: See & Sip }

Today I took my dad to one of his post-chemo appointments... Something I have decided I don't mind helping out with... Thankfully UCI Medical Center has a beautiful campus! It is actually fun to just go and sit outside and enjoy the scenery. I had more time to kill than expected, as they decided to hook him up with an hour drip of fluids... With the room pretty full, I decided to go down to the cute little coffee shop right outside the building. (Another major plus!) While sitting there, sipping my French Vanilla Ice Blended coffee (yum!) I was thinking about some new things to blog or reflect on in my life. Hmm... I decided that I should start journaling/blogging every "hidden blessing" moment that I come across. That way I (and anyone reading who is going through a similar situation and needs to see a glimmer of light in what can be such a dark tunnel) can visually look back and see all of the small blessings God has hidden beneath the words "cancer" and "chemo". My mom has also helped to inspire the idea, as she has started writing down the things that she/we can still do while going through this adventure. For example, taking a bubble bath with the lights dimmed and a candle burning... Going shopping for a few hours... Or enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Even bigger trips such as going to Disneyland and major traveling trips (that we will do when summertime comes around) are even more special and meaningful to us. These little reminders will pop up every now and then on the blog so keep an eye out! Thanks for listening!

{ Hello Again }

I am back! Sorry I have not been posting much lately... One-by-one my whole family has been hit with a bad cold and I finally got it this past week. Yuck! It also didn't help that finals were this week. All is going well though and luckily I am finally starting to feel better... inspiration and creativity is filling my soul once again! Hope no one else has faced the bug going around! Have a great day!

Swell Bottles

I have to tell you guys about my love of S'well bottles... I got mine for my birthday last summer and have enjoyed them ever since!  S'well bottles are reusable, insulated bottles that keep your drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. They help the environment by eliminating the millions of plastic water bottles that are discarded every year. Of course they come in a variety of super fun colors (and even patterns!) so you can pick your perfect match! Not to mention they don't condensate! No sweating for these beauties!  You can even write on them with chalk markers!  If interested in adding some pizazz to your daily routine go check out S'well bottles here!

{ Anchor Outfit of The Day }

Believe it or not, California has been experiencing some cooler weather lately... Now by cool weather I mean low 70's... Hot in every other part of America... but cool to me! I have been enjoying the weather and breaking out the sweaters and boots!

{ Wednesday Wisdom: Smell the Roses }

1 | 2

So sorry I didn't post until so late... Today has been pretty hectic. Running from place to place... Lots of driving in lots of traffic... yuck! Constantly thinking of all the things that need to get done in the little/no time left in the day. I decided that on days like this it is good to be reminded to stop and smell the roses. Goodnight everyone!

{ Favorites: Fitbit }

It's Friday!

I promised that I would talk some more about Fitbit today so here it goes...

Fitbit Flex (the version I own) is a wristband that tracks your steps, sleep, water intake, activities, calories burned, weight, and more! I have had mine for about 6 months and have been really enjoying it! It is waterproof and easy to wear with any outfit... as they have an assortment of colored bands to choose from! I do love options! You can sync it with your Fitbit app on your phone to receive real-time information about where you are throughout the day. Fitbit is an easy and fun way to get active and healthy.

{ My Fiesta Mashup Recipe }

* Mashups *

This past year, in an effort to eat healthier, I have been obsessed with making mashups! What is a mashup? Well, like any professional chef, I began by searching the fridge and pantry to see what I had to work with... Random cans of beans, a bag of quinoa and an assortment of veggies... So I began mixing together whatever I could find that I thought may taste good combined... The mashup was born!

No two mashups are alike! I love that. Totally customizable based on what ingredients you have or what your in the mood for!

{ Redeemed Girl }

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Yesterday, I was going through Instagram and ran across one thing that led to another that led to another... you know how that always seems to happen. Eventually I found this really neat company called Redeemed Girl Ministries

Marian Jordan Ellis is the author, speaker and founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries. She is a wonderful lady who has made these great podcasts about God, the Bible, questions you may have, etc. She also has these beautifully designed scripture memory cards available for sale. She does a year long study of memorizing scripture that you can follow along with by using the cards and/or watching the podcasts online. I started listening to some of the podcasts on my phone while I was on a walk yesterday and I am really enjoying them! Her videos are so relatable and inspiring! The perfect call to action for me to really start learning the Word and keeping it in my heart. I highly recommend checking it out and following along this year, as we memorize scripture so that we can truly have God's Word in our hearts.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."
Ezekiel 36:26-27
